Last Night Frankie Knuckles Saved My Life

{image rtentertainment.com}When I think of house music, two things come to mind: Chicago and Frankie Knuckles. So it’s only appropriate that the city is now honoring the man who some would argue gave house its beat, its style, and its name.

Frankie will be spinning tonight for Chicago SummerDance, a free dance festival that brings music and dance to the good people of Chicago for free. Frankie starts tonight at 6:30 in Grant Park, near the intersection of Michigan and Balbo. Click here for more information and schedule.

For you music snob types who adamantly do not dance, pick up a copy of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life: The History of The Disc Jockey for a history of electronic music from behind the decks, and those DJs who rocked the wheels of steel into history.
